Food tastes better when shared with friends. Zambian Food Magazine is one of our community engagement activities, celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Zambia while bringing people together through the universal language of food.
The Beginning of Our Journey
Zambian Food began as a community engagement initiative. Our main programs are the Big Breakfast Challenge and the yearly Christmas lunch in Kabwe. It's an activity in which we provide the funds and perhaps a few ideas, and the community joins in to deliver a meal, typically breakfast or lunch to children usually, but in some cases the wider community.

We have so far run the Big Breakfast in Kitwe, Lusaka, Ndola, Kabwe, Kasama, Mbala and Mongu. This initiative has allowed us to connect with communities across Zambia while celebrating our food heritage.
Our Mission
At Zambian Food Magazine, we believe that food is more than just sustenance—it's a way to preserve culture, create connections, and build community. Our mission is to document and celebrate Zambian cuisine while encouraging the sharing of recipes, food ideas, and sustainable food growing practices.
"When I eat with my friends, it is a moment of real pleasure, when I really enjoy my life."
— Monica Bellucci
Community Engagement
Beyond our magazine, we are deeply committed to community engagement through food. We believe that sharing meals creates lasting bonds and provides opportunities for cultural exchange. Our initiatives bring people together from various backgrounds to cook, eat, and celebrate as one community.
We encourage our readers to visit our Facebook page to see photos and comments on our community work. We also invite everyone to share their recipes, good food ideas and tips on how to grow food sustainably.
Looking Forward
As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to our core belief: food is better when shared. We aim to expand our reach, document more traditional recipes, and create more opportunities for communities to come together around food.
Join us on this culinary journey as we explore the rich and diverse food traditions of Zambia, one meal at a time.
